How it works
Edulo activities are files you open with a double-click. Nothing to install, no logging in and no internet needed once downloaded.
From purchase to play in four steps
1. Choose
Find an activity by theme. You can try every one first.
2. Pay
No account needed. Just your email and name, plus invoice details when buying for a school.
3. Download
Download the file right after paying. The link is also emailed to you, so you can open it on the school computer too.
4. Double-click to open
The activity opens in your web browser. Switch to full screen and start playing.
How to open the downloaded file
After downloading, the activity file is saved in your Downloads folder. It opens in your web browser just like a web page, but without needing the internet.
Windows
- Open File Explorer (the yellow folder icon on the taskbar) and click Downloads on the left.
- Find the file with the activity's name, for example edulo-jesenne-pocitanie.html.
- Double-click it. The activity opens in Edge or Chrome.
- Press F11 to show the activity in full screen.
macOS
- Open Finder and click Downloads on the left.
- Find the file with the activity's name, for example edulo-jesenne-pocitanie.html.
- Double-click it. The activity opens in your default browser.
- If it opens in Safari, we recommend Chrome or Firefox: right-click the file, choose Open With and pick the browser.
Tip: Move the file to your Desktop or an Edulo folder so you can find it faster next time.
How to move the activity to the whiteboard computer
You can buy an activity on any device, even your phone. But play it on the computer connected to the whiteboard or projector.
USB stick
- Plug the USB stick into the computer where you downloaded the file.
- Copy the file onto it: right-click the file, choose Copy, then Paste on the USB stick.
- Plug the USB stick into the whiteboard computer and double-click the file. You can play it straight from the stick or copy it to the Desktop.
- On the whiteboard computer, open the email with your download link.
- Click the link and download the file right there.
- Alternatively, email the file to yourself as an attachment and save it on the whiteboard computer.
Cloud drive
- Upload the file to Google Drive or OneDrive.
- On the whiteboard computer, sign in, download the file and double-click to open it.
Bought it on your phone? No problem. You'll find the download link in your email. Open it later on the school computer and download the activity there.
Full screen mode
In full screen, children see only the activity, without the browser bar and tabs.
- Windows
- Press F11. On some laptops you need to press Fn and F11 together.
- macOS
- Press Control, Command and F together, or click the green button in the top left corner of the window.
- In the activity
- Many activities have their own full screen button in the corner.
To leave full screen, use the same shortcut or press Esc.
The file opened in another program
Sometimes the file opens in a text editor or Word, or shows up as text full of tags. The file is fine, the computer just doesn't know it should open it in a browser.
- Close the program that opened.
- Right-click the file and choose Open with.
- Choose Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge or Firefox.
- If you like, tick Always use this app. Next time a double-click will do.
Another option: open your browser, press Ctrl and O (Command and O on a Mac) and choose the activity file. You can also drag the file into the browser window with your mouse.
