About the activity

Ten exercises are waiting in the forest, for example Path Home (horizontal line), Falling Leaves (vertical line, top to bottom), Hopping Hare (arcs), Snake in the Leaves (wavy line), Squirrel Gathers Nuts (diagonal lines), A Nest for the Bird (circle), Spider Web (spiral), Rolling Hedgehog and, to finish, Trace the Picture.

Children follow the marked track with a finger and the game shows them where to start. The exercises suit a forest or autumn topic.

What children develop

  • pre-writing shapes: line, arc, wavy line, circle and spiral
  • smooth hand movement and hand-eye coordination
  • drawing from top to bottom and from left to right
  • getting to know forest animals

How to use it in class

  1. Name the animal in each exercise with the children and copy how it moves, for example a hopping hare.
  2. Spread the exercises over several days, two or three a day.
